FAQ
What is Planescope? +
A tool for aviation enthusiasts and spotters. It watches the traffic at European airports and
points out the arrivals worth a look: unusual aircraft types on a route, rare types, special liveries and stickers, brand-new
aircraft, military and state flights and unscheduled flights such as ferry or maintenance flights.
Which airports are covered? +
Currently 28 airports, see Coverage.
You can request more there, with or without an account.
Can I try it without an account? +
Yes: the live demo
shows Düsseldorf with real data and all list functions.
How does Planescope decide what is special? +
Each flight is compared with what normally happens: which aircraft type
usually flies a route, how often a type comes to an airport, which registrations wear a special livery, which operators are
military or state. Every feature has an interest level from 1 (Interesting) to 4 (Exceptional).
Where does the data come from? +
From several flight data providers and ADS-B receivers, merged so that every flight
appears once. Times are shown in local time.
How do I get notified? +
With an account you can set email alerts per airport, category and interest level,
right away or as a daily summary at 06:00.
What does it cost? +
Free during the closed beta. See Pricing for the plans after launch.
Something is wrong in the data. What can I do? +
With an account, every flight has a small report button.
We check every report.
